As rightly said by the Father of the Nation, “By education, I mean an all around drawing of the best in child and man in body, mind and spirit.” This, with no speck of doubt holds true in terms of education.
What is education?
It can be defined as a process of learning in various spheres of life for instance; moral values, scientific aspects, languages, beliefs, history, understanding of the subject in a college or school. Near hear experiences of our present environment also include an important part of it. Every individual begins the journey of education with 26 alphabets and numeric values those with time split into various subjects that contribute to the scientific temperament, vocabulary treasures, historical knowledge.
Sources of education:
The primary source of education has always been the books. Since the old times, dried leaves were used to write scriptures and were the source of education. In today’s era with the enormous speed of development, there are various sources of gaining information in the entire field. Gone are the days when students used to carry piles of heavy books, recent times have introduced them to books turned into pdf etc. Gaining information is just a click away due to internet. The trajectory of the sources is multi dimensional, from the elders to the experiences; education is undoubtedly a forever learning process.
Screens are the new blackboards of today’s children.
Difference between a degree education and knowledge:
Knowledge can be defined as the outcome of education. Wisdom and knowledge are the true epitome of intelligence. What? When? How? Are answered by knowledge. Knowledge leads education. The primary source of knowledge is the real life experiences. A degree many a times proves to be a failure in front of knowledge. A person with knowledge in hands and with no top notch marks in pockets can still be upgraded to the best of potentials. But the fact cannot be defined that there is only a border line difference between the two. Education is as a whole a system of subjects, knowledge is by parts divided on the basis of spheres. For example: A person with a high qualification degree and a person with only knowledge apply for a job related to marketing. The one with the degree gets through it. Therefore, degree is a cherry on a cake of knowledge. Many influencers like Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam always stressed on education, he being the best of scientists, “The missile man of India”.
Right to education:
Among all the rights, right to education remains the one most stressed upon. The RTE was enacted on 4th AUGUST 2009, which describes the modalities of the importance of free and compulsory education for children between the ages of 6 to 14 years in INDIA article 21A.
But unfortunately, this right year on year is violated due to exploitation via child labour or poor quality education. The roots of any country will be stronger only if the young generation is provided basic education. Therefore, slogans and schemes in concern with this act must be followed for bright future of our nation.
IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION:
The area of tremendous development requires individuals with education. Say in the search for water on the mars to the small household budgets, education remains as a weapon to overcome such things. We grow up reading moral values books in the 5th grade, the time with cases of crime is on the peak, and therefore education is important. Education initiated is synonymous to a first brick in the construction of a skyscraper. It helps us to choose our fields of interest. The sole purpose of getting good education is being good citizen and then being successful in personal and professional life. Being a correct decision maker is also due education only. Attending school and receiving education is extremely vital for every person and necessary for those who want to achieve success. Many times people wander on the roads of superstitions, and go astray by having false beliefs. Our aim of getting education should be to help other needy people of the society to get them over the weaknesses and superstitions.
TYPES OF EDUCATION:
- Formal education:
It is the education that one attains from school, college or any other institute. It has a systematic order from pencil to pens and then dividing into various other grounds. It is actually subjective. The basic arithmetic and literature begins in the form of formal education. It is then subdivided into grades and post education. The primary education begins in the nursery and post education or under graduation begins in the college or a university. The books related to these are divided accordingly to the classes and the mindset of students of particular ages. It is also called the education of the classrooms. Formal education does not only teach us the subjects concerned but also the basic manners and lifestyle of an individual. For instance, daily morning assemblies are the indications given to students how to begin their day daily, also, bells for intervals; lunch breaks teach how to have a perfect timetable. In classrooms, students sit with children of different caste, religion or creed, this teaches them the lessons of secularism and humanity. Therefore giving them the knowledge in the oneness of GOD and we all are one lesson..!
- Non formal education:
It is the education with rejuvenation in the learning process of children. It means classrooms outside the four walls, taking children on excursions, help them to feel fresh air and inhibit them to be dull and boring.
Students often go to historical places and educational trips which all fall under no formal education.
Therefore it is rightly said that “knowledge cannot be fortified under the four walls.” It is the suborder of formal education as it also involves the teachers and children are meant to learn the basic etiquettes of interacting in public.
Non-formal education is imparted consciously and deliberately and systematically implemented. It should be organised for a homogeneous group. Non-form, education should be programmed to serve the needs of the identify group. This will necessitate flexibility in design of the curriculum and the scheme of evaluation.
- Informal education:
Well, the first school of any child is his own home and the first teacher his mother, therefore informal education begins at home itself. Right from the infant stage, we are taught to repeat words, to hold spoons while eating and it greet etc, this all is a vital part of education. From fathers teaching their children how to ride a bicycle or cross roads to mothers telling children how to eat and basic manners, informal education rightly begins from our own houses.
REAL MEANING OF EDUCATION:
Education provides us raw materials for leading our lives in a smooth manner. Therefore everybody in this world, irrespective of their age, have the right to education. We grow morally, ethically as a responsible citizen via education. Gender must not be a barrier on the roads of education. The mother EARTH requires responsible educated citizens so as to use the resources
in the best manner. Education alone can transform the individual from the one with least of resources or luxuries to somebody stable in life. Neighbor hood with educated people helps you to grow mentally and make fair decisions in life. Education abstain us to ignore the ignorant people and get into unnecessary fights and arguments.
THEREFORE, EDUCATION GIVES YOU POWER TO TRANSFORM STONES INTO BEST POSSIBLE WOKR OF ART…!!!
